I shot Larry Gebert 3 Times....

2010 0830 KTVB Larry Gebert
This week as I ventured around Boise, looking for material for 208tv, I ran into Idaho's favorite weather man and KTVB icon - Larry Gebert 3 times: Once at the Treasure Valley United Way Flapjack Feed, once at the 2nd Annual Boise Curb Cup and then this morning (at about 5:30AM) on my way to work he was taping around the corner from our studio. With all the lights, remote van and hulabaloo going on, I thought I'd stop and check things out. First of all HE remembered me from all three previous encounters in the last week which I find incredible given that he has spoken to or seen everyone in Idaho at least once and add to that the first to times we were at events that had thousands of people milling about. How can this guy remember who he ran into an hour ago let alone a week ago? Well...between shots, Larry came over and talked to me. He asked about my business, he gave me advice about the new show we are producing, and he clowned it up when I asked if I could take a couple pictures while he worked. How does he remember people? He is a great guy with a loving heart towards the community he serves - thats my take on Larry Gebert.

2010 0814 Boardstock 2010 - Broadside Harbor

Got a tip from Jenna Hines that there was a wake board competition out in Caldwell. We were unaware of any lake worthy of a comp in Caldwell so we had to go check it out. It turned out to be a great day! made some great connections with Idaho Water Sports and the Virus 99.1

Broadside Harbor is really an amazing man made lake in a backyard and we look forward to filming there again in the future.

Treasure Valley 3rd Annual Flapjack Feed

If there is a community more vibrant, joyful, connected, supportive and compassionate than Boise, Idaho – I wanna know about it!
I attended the Treasure Valley United Way’s 3rd Annual Flapjack feed this morning and was bowled over by the love. I felt connected to my community and proud to be a Boisean. I’ll estimate there were a thousand plus people there while my buddy, Homer and I were enjoying the breakfast feast. We arrived an hour after the start so people were leaving and even more coming in as we gorged on delicious pancakes, eggs, cheesy potatoes and every kind of fruit dish imaginable – all for $5.
Channel 7 (KTVB) were there and the event was hosted by the beautiful Carolyn Holly and the inimitable Larry Gebert; both are popular beloved Treasure Valley icons.
The event was both entertaining and educational as the United way premiered their latest video depicting the stats of issues challenging our community and the intentions of United Way to address those issues.
